THE PRINT NOTES / PLANNING GUIDE

The first decisions in custom sticker design

Start with the job the sticker needs to do, then choose its format and appearance.

Define the use before the material

Write down where the sticker will be applied, who will handle it and how long it is intended to stay. Include moisture, cleaning, temperature or outdoor exposure when they matter. These details help a supplier assess a construction instead of relying on a broad product name.

Separate the surface requirements from the visual preferences. A transparent look, a paper texture or a reflective effect describes appearance; it does not establish adhesive suitability or tested performance.

Select a practical format

Compare loose pieces, complete sheets, roll labels and transfer constructions against the packing or application task. Think about how the item will be peeled, positioned and distributed.

Check the artwork at the finished dimensions. Keep text readable, confirm the cut outline and ask the supplier about spacing and file requirements. Small details can require adjustments during artwork review.

Make the brief specific

Name each design and provide its dimensions, quantity unit, surface and requested finish. The minimum is 1,000 per artwork and manufacturing specification. A quote and an approved specification establish the final price, construction and timing; the website's concept illustrations do not.
