Measure the application area
A tube, a flat panel and a helmet-like curved surface present different layout problems. For a bike, identify the exact frame area, measure its usable width and length, and photograph seams or contours that could affect placement.
Keep the artwork clear of safety markings, moving parts and inspection information. A paper cutout can help check the scale and how much of the design will remain visible around a curve.
Describe the finish and conditions
Record whether the target is painted, clear-coated, bare metal or another finish. Include expected weather exposure, cleaning products, friction and the desired length of use.
Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed adhesive and finish for that surface. Claims about weather resistance, abrasion or clean removal need evidence for the actual material combination. A generic label such as vinyl does not answer all of those questions.
Build a reviewable specification
Include the design file, finished dimensions, intended surface and quantity. Request a representative sample when surface compatibility matters. Each artwork and manufacturing specification starts at 1,000 pieces. Final feasibility, price and timing are confirmed during quote and production review.
